Update Existing JIRA Issue

#1

Hello,
We are new to TestRail. I have installed the JIRA addon and can create new JIRA Issues. Can some tell me how to update and existing JIRA Issue please. For example, we run a test on a bug fix and it fails. How do we tell TestRail to update the existing JIRA ticket with the updated information?

Thanks!
Bill

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your posting! The Push feature would always create new issues (possible as regular issue or sub-task) but you can edit existing issues directly in JIRA. If you have linked the issue to a test case or result in TestRail, you can directly jump to the issue in JIRA by clicking on the issue ID in TestRail (this will open the issue in JIRA in a new tab). You can also look into pushing issues as sub-task to existing issues and this can be configured as follows:

Cheers,
Tobias
