Trimming/purging old Test Runs

#1

Hello,
As we are running thousands of tests daily across multiple environments, we end up creating lots of data which is useful typically for maybe 50 or so builds.

Can testrails have feature ‘discard old testruns’ which the user can specify ?

This would save space and probably help avoid future performance issues as we keep dumping data into testrails.

Hudson currently has something similar.

Hi Ali,

Thank for your posting. I assume you are mainly asking about results for automated test runs, is that correct? We don’t currently have such a feature in TestRail as you know, but we will think about this. TestRail’s database structure was designed in a way that old archived test runs shouldn’t have a big impact on future performance, but I understand that it can be desired to purge older results anyway.

Thanks,
Dennis
