TestRail API returned HTTP 400 ({'error': 'Invalid characters in GET: [email] [user name@amazon.com]'})

Problem statement : unable to fetch user name by email when giving the email id in the format = “username+secondname” i.e jake+automation@orgname.com.

api returns TestRail API returned HTTP 400 ({‘error’: ‘Invalid characters in GET: [email] [Jake automation@amazon.com]’})

Is there any other replacement code for + symbol.?
