Is there way to create subtask from TestRail?
#2

One question:

For the item Added: Support for sub-tasks for Jira_REST defect plugin (optional) do you have an example of this or how it’ll work?

Thanks.

Hello Don,

Thanks for your posting. You would need to add the ‘parent’ option to your defect plugin configuration (e.g., under Administration > Integration):

[connection]
..

[push.fields]
..
parent=on

This will add a new Parent field to the Push Defect dialog to enter the parent issue when adding a new issue. You would also need to make sure to select a sub-task issue type in the Issue Type field.

The Parent field also has an ‘autofill’ option which automatically uses the issue stored in the References field of the related test case as parent, if any. This can be enabled as follows:

[push.field.parent] autofill=on

We will also make sure to add this to the documentation soon.

Regards,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,

I keep getting the error message “Form field “parent” does not specify a field type.” as soon as I set parent=on.

I guess I’m missing something here (?)

Thanks for your posting. Please send us the defect plugin configuration via email to contact@gurock.com (with passwords/user names removed). Also, do you use a custom version of the defect plugin?

Regards,
Tobias
