Test Suite- get list of test cases and amount of time to execute

#1

We are pretty new to using TestRail- and are currently running regression on a test suite and using the Progress to capture the amount of time it take to execute a test case. After testing is complete for this test suite- can I generate a list of the test cases and the amount of time it took for each one to be tested? Thanks

Hi Ann Marie,

Thanks for your posting! Yes, the execution time is recorded as part of the Elapsed field for each test in a test run. The total execution time of a test run can be found on the Progress tab (in the sidebar). The execution time per test can be found by adding the Elapsed column to the test run page (can be added via the Columns button above the tables). You can also create CSV/Excel files that include the Elapsed column if you want to process the data outside of TestRail:

Thanks that is really helpful- one follow up question. How do I format the elapse time export in this format (ie ā€œ5400sā€ to display in a hours and mins to add up? Thanks

Hi Ann Marie,

Great to hear this helps! This is just the number of seconds and you should be able to convert this into minutes/hours/days with an Excel function or calculation. Removing the ā€˜sā€™ at the end and dividing by 3600 would give you the number of hours, for example.

Tobias
