Passing a Variant to LogValue

#1

I have a variant that is failing to cast to another variable at a certain time, and I want to capture the variant values without casting them. Unfortunately there is no LogValue that takes a variant, so I would need to explicitly cast it to another value (maybe string) to make the call. It sure would be nice if I could just pass the variant as a variant (reports “Ambiguous overloaded call” right now).

I realize it might be tricky to cast it on the SmartInspect side though, but it handles all these other types so nicely.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the suggestion. This is certainly something that would be useful and it’s already on our feature request list and we will consider it for a future release. We will see what we can do!

Thanks.
