Not Able to Add Multiple Steps

Our QA usually has two testing steps, one for the QA environments and one for prod. Using Test Case’s custom fields we tried to add a new field for Prod Test Steps, but it returns an error saying you can only have one step field.

Is there any way around this, and what is the reasoning for this?

Hi Zach,

Thanks for your posting. Yes, there can only be one steps field. You can either just execute each step on both your production and QA environments, or use a completely different approach and use separate test runs for your two environments (this would be our recommended approach). In this case, I can recommend using test plans and configurations and this would make it very easy to compare the production and QA environments and spot differences between both systems:
