No option to add references in Test run which is under a test plan

I am not able to add a Jira reference number in a test run if the test run is added under a test plan. If I create a test run outside then it has an option to add references. May I know why this difference.

Pratap Reddy.

Hello @pratap,

Thank you for reaching out! The ability to add references to test runs was introduced in TestRail 6.1. However, test runs within test plans doesn’t currently support the references field. That said, we already have it planned to add this ability in a future update to TestRail and I will add your vote to this feature request which helps us prioritize internally. I hope this helps clarify.

Any plans to add references to Test Plans? Would want this to provide a more higher level view on which test runs were completed for that JIRA task.

We are currently evaluating TestRail for use in my company. We would very much like to have the ability to assign references to Test Plans.

Hi @jgilbertson and @jenkey,

Thanks for the feedback! We are working on a number of improvements to the defect integration systems including adding references to full plans and runs within plans, along with other new features. I can’t give any specific release dates for these features, but they should start rolling in the coming months. For now, I’ve added your feedback to the internal request to further help the developers prioritize upcoming releases.

Hi @jacob.scott,

I hope the Gurock Team is aware of the fact, that the integration with Jira (or similar Tools) is not just about refering defects (in this case I don’t wan’t to link a defect with a test run). It is also needed to reference issues like stories or epics. Of course including a way to report it in different ways.
