MS SQL Server

#1

Does anyone have some example code that shows the best way of getting a sil file stored in an SQL Server database (as a filestream) when the logging session is terminated?

Thanks,

PP

Hello,

Thanks for your posting. We don’t currently have a full example for a SQL Server protocol but a good starting point would be the custom protocol article:

http://www.gurock.com/smartinspect/using-custom-protocols-with-the-smartinspect-libraries.a.html

You may also be interested in a blog post about a sqlite protocol:

I hope this helps and just let me know in case you have any further questions.

Tobias

Tobias,

Thanks for the pointers but unless I’m missing something, both of these articles relate to logging raw data to an SQL database. All I want to do is save the sil file to a database as a filestream when my app is terminated. Is there anything in particular that I need to do with the logging api to achieve this?

-Thanks,

PP

Thanks for the additional details. You could implement this outside of SmartInspect after setting the Enabled property to false at the end of your application. You would just need to open the generated SIL file and store it in your SQL database.

I hope this helps,
Tobias
