Jira push back to TestRail possible?

#1

I see on this page:
http://www.gurock.com/testrail/jira-test-management.i.html
You can push from TestRail to Jira, but what about the reverse?

Is this possible? or is this a one way push (testrail to jira) and any other method is a actual jira customization?

Also I can’t find the download for the actual plugin listed on this page:
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.gurock.testrail
It always directs back to TestRail, so there is no actual plugin then?

Hello Larry,

Thanks for your posting. There’s currently no feature to push back from JIRA to TestRail. Are you looking into creating test cases in TestRail based on issues in JIRA (e.g. requirements or user stories)? In this case I would recommend looking into the References field on the test case level in TestRail which is meant to track relationships between test cases in TestRail and requirements/user stories etc. in external tools (JIRA, for example):

http://docs.gurock.com/testrail-integration/references-introduction

Regarding the plugin: the JIRA integration functionality is directly built-in into TestRail and you don’t need to install a plugin in JIRA for this. You can take a look at the integration with the following training video if you like:

I hope this helps and please let me know in case you have any further questions.

Regards,
Tobias
