Issue installing TestRail

#1

Hello all, I’m trying to install TestRail on Linux (Debian), and am running into the following error: Could not connect to the specified database: Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘server’ (111)

More information:

  • mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.49, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 6.3
  • Linux version 3.16.0-4-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.8.4 (Debian 4.8.4-1) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt20-1+deb8u4 (2016-02-29)

Hi!

Thanks for your posting. Have you installed the database and TestRail on the same server? You should then be able to use “localhost” as server address. Can you try this please? If you installed the database on a separate server, could you try using the IP address instead of an hostname?

Cheers,
Tobias
