Integration key - where to find it?

#1

trying to follow the doc here http://docs.gurock.com/testrail-integration/tools-jira-server , item 3 specifically

i need to get that infomation to our Jira admin but no where does it discuss generating or finding the integration key if you dont have direct access to admin on your Jira instance

so where do i find or create this Integration Key ?

answering own quesiton –

believe i found it here:
http://docs.gurock.com/testrail-api2/accessing

Username and API Key
Alternatively TestRail also supports API keys. API keys can be generated in TestRail under My Settings. With an API key you would still use HTTP basic authentication and you would still send your TestRail username (e.g. your email address). You would just replace your password with any of the generated/active API keys. You can generate multiple API keys for different systems or third-party tools and revoke access by deleting the API key at any time under My Settings.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your posting. There’s a “Generate Key in TestRail” button/link on the configuration page in TestRail:

(next to the Integration Key field)

This will jump to TestRail and goes through a wizard to generate a key (which you need to copy & paste back to JIRA).

I hope this helps!

Cheers,
Tobias
