Hello Carly,

Thanks for your posting! Scheduled reports can only be edited or deleted by the user who added this report (the report owner). Please note that TestRail doesn’t generate reports for scheduled reports owned/added by inactive users though.

The delete/edit icons are available as part of the report row on the Reports overview page. If you only see the edit icon but not the delete icon, it’s likely that your user account doesn’t have the required permissions to delete reports and you would need to ask your TestRail administrator to look into this (Administration > Users & Roles).

I hope this helps!

Cheers,
Tobias

Hi,
My user permissions let me create and schedule reports but I can’t find a way to delete or cancel them. Why is this possible?
Thanks,
Lauren

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for your posting. Only the owner/creator of a report or scheduled report can delete it and you would need to ask the person who created the report to remove it for you. Please note that if the user is no longer active (Administration > Users & Roles), then TestRail also wouldn’t create any reports based on the scheduled report.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,
Tobias

If a user is inactive, how can we delete that scheduled report? I know it does not generate any reports, but the entry is clogging up the list and we’d like that removed

Hey there,

There is not currently a way in-app to remove reports generated by other users including inactive users. That being said, we are exploring adding the ability for administrators to access and delete any reports. I can’t give any specifics on a time frame for when that may be available, but I’ve added your vote (as well as other similar requests in this thread) to help our development team prioritize future updates.

You say there’s not a way in-app. How about outside of the app? Is there a way for on-premise customers to do so?

Hi @eraserwke,

Thanks for the reply! Currently, bulk deletion of reports within TestRail’s UI is not supported, and we do understand how this would be helpful for teams desiring to reduce their database size and storage space. We also have a feature request to allow TestRail admins access to all reports through the UI, and I have added your vote to this feature request as well.

There are not currently any database scripts which we would provide, as modifying TestRail’s database or deleting reports directly from the file system instead of the UI may yield adverse effects within TestRail’s UI.

It would still be possible to reactivate the original account and delete the excess reports through the UI, however we understand this is not an ideal solution for all teams and your votes will help us prioritize additional TestRail improvements.
