- While reading through the topics i cant figure out how to create a test case template?
- Are there any workarounds that gives basic information for ‘How To’ questions?
The template defines what fields are in a test case and there is one created by default. Go to the Administration --> Customizations and the 3rd section is Templates. When you click on a Template it takes you to the listing of fields in the template. If you do not see fields (Case and Result) then click on the “Show fields that apply to this template” link.
A field can be assigned to one template or all templates and then the template has to be assigned to a Project(s).
We use the default Template for all projects. You will need to decide what you want to see in the template and if you need a template for different types of Test Cases.
I would suggest playing with the template in a test Project and experiment…

The third section within customization ribbon is “Test cases type”
My user has Administrator privileges so i believe it isn’t a permission issue.
Am i looking at the right place?
It is the right place but I wonder if your install is self hosted and older that does not include templates. It is very different than the page I see with version 5.4.0
