How to avoid testers to execute test cases that are not assigned?

#1

Hi again,

is there a way to avoid testers (the role tester) to execute test cases that are not assigned to them.
Right now every one can pick up any test case from the test run (even TCs that are not assigned to him) and can simply execute it…

Hello,

Thanks for your posting. This is not supported and everyone can add test results if the user account has the permissions to do so (Tests > Add/Edit). TestRail doesn’t enforce this because it may be useful to enter test results even if a test is not assigned to a particular person. I would recommend solving this organizationally if this is a strict requirement for you (i.e. tell your users to execute only assigned tests).

Tobias
