How do you know the content of a test when the case is deleted

#1

How do you know the content of a test when the case is deleted?

I found the only connection between the cases and tests is the case_id. (Is this correct?)
If a case is deleted and then the case_id in relative tests would be NULL.
How do you know the content of this test?

Thanks.

Hello Alston,

Thanks for your posting. TestRail creates internal case copies when test runs & plans are closed so that case changes (or deletions) do not affect closed test runs/plans. The field that points to the actual content case is content_id. We recommend accessing data via TestRail’s API instead of the database as TestRail would automatically handle such (internal) aspects for you.

Tobias
