How do you change Type and Priority for a test case?

#1

I would like to have different values in the drop downs for editing a Test Case for both Priority and Type. Right now the most important one is Priority, since the descriptions do not match our standard testing practices.

Type is also important as we have a few more areas we use.

I can’t find anywhere to modify these.

Hi Steve,

That’s already on our feature request list, but not yet implemented. You could change the values directly in the database in the meantime (priorities and case_types tables). It’s recommended to not delete existing priorities/case types (adding new items is OK though).

Hope this helps.

Tobias

Thanks. Would it be OK to simply change the text for the existing ones, or is that going to cause any problems on an upgrade?

Hi Steve,

Yes, that’s not a problem at all. We have thought about converting these fields to custom fields in the upcoming version, but decided to keep those fields as built-in fields for now. We will look into providing a user interface to make it easier to change the values.
