Getting error while importing an xml file

#1

Hi,
I am new to the test rail.

I am getting error while I am importing an xml file .

The error message says:

Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding ! Bytes: 0xCA 0x74 0x68 0x65

I am not sure what it is and how to resolve it.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Sudhanshu,

This indicates that you have Unicode characters in your XML file but that the file is not encoded as UTF-8. TestRail has full support for Unicode and non-western characters but you would need to make sure that your XML import file uses the UTF-8 encoding. The easiest way to do this is to use a text editor with good Unicode support such as Notepad++ and convert your file to the UTF-8 encoding (e.g., in Notepad++, you can use Encoding | Convert to UTF-8 without BOM).

We are also happy to take a look at the file if you prefer this and you can send the file to our help desk via email to:
