Formatting - How to use # in the Test Step without making the text Bold

#1

Hi,

I am new to Test Rail and we are giving it a try at the moment.

I would like to know how to use # as a normal hashtag without making the text bold. I need to use # to define one of the test steps.

Thanks.

I believe a \ will do the trick. \ #text here - be sure to NOT leave a space between the \ and #.

The \ is an escape character and lets the character act normally. Same will need to be done if you need a copy/paste a UNC path with underscores in the path.

Hi Junaid,

Thanks for your posting. The # turns a regular line into a header but this will only have an effect at the beginning of a line:

You can use # to escape the # character or use `#text` instead.

Cheers,
Tobias
