Default text in result field

Is it possible to set a default value for a field in the add test result dialog? For example, when running tests on a new build, the vast majority of results will have exactly the same value in the Version field. Rather than have to type this in every time, it would be great to be able to set a value that appears here automatically, which can then be edited if required.

Hello Chris,

Thanks for your posting! That’s currently not directly possible but browsers should usually remember previously entered values for the same field. You could also look into replacing the built-in version field with a custom dropdown field and a fixed number of options. You can configure custom fields and options for system fields under Administration > Customizations:

That said, we usually recommend managing the version/release/milestone and maybe build number on the test run or plan level. This makes especially sense if the version/build number is the same for all tests inside a run or plan.

I hope this helps!

Regards,
Tobias
