Custom Case Fields - location on template

How can I add fields to the TOP of the case fields template? We don’t need a large plain text box like Preconditions field for each custom field at the BOTTOM. Wastes space.

Thanks,
Lorinda

Hi Lorinda,

Thank you for posting! You can add custom fields in TestRail to the top section of the test cases under Administration > Customizations. The top section of the test case view would always include compact fields such as string fields, dropdown fields, check boxes, etc. Larger fields like text fields and multi-select fields would always be on the bottom portion of a test case. You can also re-order these fields as needed via the up/down arrows to the right of each field under Administration > Customizations. You can learn more about adding custom fields on our website here:

I hope this helps!

John
