Can we change editor?

#1

Is there any way that I can change the editor which come with testrail?
It supports the markdown language which is not enough for our users.

Is it possible to replace current editor with other editor such ckeditor?

Thanks.

Hello Alston,

Thanks for your posting. TestRail supports Markdown only currently and we found that many customers prefer a simple rich-text format compared to full WYSIWYG editors. It’s already planned to add more editing features to Markdown fields and also add a small editor/toolbar to help with the Markdown syntax.

If you have or plan to have structured steps and expected results we can also recommend looking into using the separated steps field:

Hello Tobias,

Thanks for your reply.

It seems that we can use html tag in your markdown language but I have no idea about how to write it. Is this correct that you can support some html tag in your editor? How?

Hello Alston,

Thanks for your email. Our Markdown implementation doesn’t allow HTML (for security reasons) and you can find the full list of supports formatting options here:

http://docs.gurock.com/testrail-userguide/userguide-editor

For structured test cases or steps, we can also recommend using our separated steps control/field as mentioned (also supports Markdown per step/expected result/actual result):

Tobias
