Are Test Runs and Test Plans two separate entities?

#1

I have a test run linked to a milestone and a test plan linked to a milestone. Do I run the test from the test run or from the test plan - and where do the results go? Thanks, AD

Hi!

Thanks for your posting. Test plans are basically a group of (related) test runs and you would still add your results to the test runs. In addition to testing against different environments such as browsers or operating systems (via the configuration feature), plans are also often used for managing sprints/iterations (linked to a larger release represented by a milestone).

Thanks. So basically Test Plans do not have the test run results.

Yep, that’s correct. They do have a status though (just like runs) which is the sum of all statuses of the contained test runs.
