Added custom Jira field to Push dialog as a dropdown type, but no values appear in the dropdown list

#1

Hi,

We have added custom Jira fields called ‘Sprint’ and ‘Epic Link’ in the Defect Plugin section in the Integration tab in TestRail Administration section.
Note: these are NOT required/mandatory fields in Jira.

Issue: When we select the Sprint (or Epic Link) field in the defect Push dialog, there are no values available for selection in the dropdown list.
How do I get these values from Jira to be available for selection?
(Note: When we create a defect directly in Jira, they are can be selected from the dropdown just fine).

The Jira custom field ID is 10004.

Here is the configuration:
; Please configure your JIRA connection below.
;
; Note: requires JIRA 5 or later or JIRA OnDemand/Cloud. You
; can use the ‘JIRA SOAP’ defect plugin for older versions.

customfield_10005=on
linktype=on

[**push.field.customfield_10004]**
label=Sprint

remember=true
type=dropdown
_required=true_

[push.field.customfield_10005]
label=Epic Link

Thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks for your post! The built-in JIRA defect plugin wouldn’t support the Sprint and Epic Link fields, as these fields were added fairly recently to the JIRA API and don’t function in the same way that other standard JIRA fields do. We have plans to look into adding these fields for a future update to TestRail, however we don’t have an ETA/timeframe for this yet. If you’re using TestRail Server, you can look into customizing the built-in JIRA defect plugin to include this, however this would take a bit of work on your end. If you’re interested in this option, you can learn more about this on our website here:

Hope this helps!

Marco

Currently we are still looking into this feature and do not have an ETA on when or if this will be included. We will definitely keep everyone updated on this however.
